Introduction
HI ! Friends Result of SSC Tier I is out on 21 Jul 2011 and now it is turn for mains or SSC tier II . I am writing this article for the candidate who got success in tier one exam CGL SSC. I Will provide here a brief about the SSC CGL II tier Exam which is to be held on 3 rd and 4 th Sep 2011. We will discuss here about the syllabus and pattern of exam as per the SSC new Schemes.
In II tier of SSC CGL exam there will be two paper consisting of 200 marks each and duration of 2 hrs each. There will be only objective types of questions. First paper will be math consist of 100 questions and 200 marks. And second paper will be English consist of 200 questions and 200 marks. In this post I will discuss only about math.
Syllabus of Math SSC II tier CGL 2011
Paper-I : Arithmetic Ability : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, ,fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion,Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart How to Prepare for Math SSC CGL II tier View
Arithmetic Ability required practice and hard work. QA will deal with basic maths – algebra, profit loss, percentage problems, arithmetic problems etc. Books of Std.9th or 10th would help in preparing for this. Math’s in SSC CGL exam is so easy that even class 8 students can solved easily but it require practice and continuously to save the time in the examinations.
Self-Preparation Vs Coaching Classes
If you have excellent ability during your school in mathematics and you have clear concept above subjects then you need not to go for coaching. It is recommended purchase any good book which is specially designed for the II tier SSC CGL from the market and practice at home. But if you are weak in math during the school time then you must go for coaching classes. Coaching classes definitely help you to understand the basic concept of math formulas.

ReplyDeletei m ankit , i have good command on math i got 70 % in math ssc tier 1 and again 70% in 2
but now at a time i have problem in algebra and geometary question into both paper , their is no previous year question and book rather than 10th and 12th for prepration but both of is not benifical in fci and data entry exam
